Join us for our next HerStory with Chloe Learey, Executive Director of The Winston Prouty Center for Child and Family Development.
Chloe has spent her career working at the intersection of leadership, community and social impact. For nearly two decades, she has led the Winston Prouty Center while also taking on leadership roles across healthcare, early childhood advocacy, community finance and economic development in Vermont.
Come hear Chloe’s story, the experiences and choices that have shaped her career, what she has learned about leadership and money along the way and how her own relationship with investing and financial decision-making has evolved over time.
As always, HerStory is an opportunity to hear the personal stories behind accomplished women in our community and to have an open and candid conversation about money, investing, careers and the decisions we make along the way.
About Chloe
Chloe Learey has been the Executive Director of The Winston Prouty Center for Child and Family Development since July 2007.
The Prouty Center purchased the 180+ acre campus of the former The Austine School for the Deal in 2016 and has been bringing it back to life for the past 10 years, including a plan to create up to 300 units of workforce housing. The in-town location makes it ideal for development in a way that preserves the natural beauty of the campus by doing construction where buildings already exist. Chloe and her team launched an Integrated Capital Campaign – philanthropy and impact investment — to build housing at a cost that will make it accessible to many, from working families to retirees who want to downsize. Housing is an economic linchpin, and the time is ripe for local investing to be part of the solution to increasing our housing supply in Brattleboro and beyond. Read more here: Vermont’s Housing Challenge is also a Capital Challenge.
Chloe serves as chair of the Board of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, and is also on the boards of the Vermont Community Loan Fund and Southeastern Vermont Economic Development Strategy. She is passionate about helping create communities where everyone is valued and has a chance to develop and contribute their gifts.
