We’re excited to welcome Clair Purcell founder of Sussera Properties, for our next VTWIN HerStory conversation. Clair is a Vermont-based housing developer who is helping address one of the state’s greatest challenges by creating much-needed housing while building investment opportunities that strengthen communities. During this conversation, Clair will share her personal money story, her transition from strategy consulting to real estate development and what inspired her to build a business focused on expanding housing in Rutland and beyond.
About Clair
Clair Purcell is a Vermont-based housing developer and founder of Sussera, where she builds new multifamily housing and creates aligned investment opportunities rooted in long-term community value. She spent nearly a decade as a Strategic Design Principal at Boston Consulting Group, advising Fortune 500 companies and biotech startups on growth and innovation strategy before shifting her focus to building tangible assets in underserved markets. Clair also founded Rutland County’s first forest school, Fox Hollow, and is a strong advocate for expanding housing and childcare — the foundational infrastructure she believes will power Vermont’s next era of economic growth.
