We’re excited for Sandra Stone to join us on Tuesday, November 17, from 5pm to 6:30pm to tell Her Story of her journey from accelerator coordinator to angel investor and becoming an ecosystem advocate and regional collaborator. She has spent the last 12 years focused on increasing gender diversity in Maine’s angel investment network, hoping to empower more women to use their wealth to create change.

About Sandra Stone: Sandra is Chair Emerita of Maine Angels, and an active member since 2008, joining when there were only 2 other female members. As the female member of longest duration, she became a passionate recruiter of female members & active promoter of female engagement. Now with over 70 members, there are 23 female Maine Angel members. She is also 1 of 5 Directors on the Investment Advisory Board for the angel groups’ Dirigo Angel Investment Fund that raised $2.4M.
Sandra is one of 3 co-founders of the Northern New England Women’s Investor Network (NNEWIN), a collaboration between ME, NH & VT to activate more financially accredited women as angel investors in the three state area through training, networking, and mentoring. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors of CEI Ventures Inc which manages 4 socially responsible venture capital funds of over $30 million in direct investments in 60 companies. as well as on the advisory board of MxG (Maine Accelerates Growth) now member led.
Sandra has been President of the Board of Trustees since 2013 of a family grant-making foundation in Illinois. (An active Trustee since 1988, she chairs the semi-annual Board meetings and the Executive Committee, and sits on is a member of the Finance & Investment, MRI (Mission Related Investments), P&C (Performance & Compensation), and Education Grant making committees.)
In 2013, Sandra was recognized as a MaineBiz Woman to Watch. In 2018 she was one of the women featured in the inaugural issue of Moxie Maine Magazine; awarded the SBA Maine Financial Services Champion of the Year; and profiled in The Maine Magazine “50 Mainers Balancing Heritage and Progress” issue.
