March 21, 2024 at 12:30pm
Virtual Meeting

The Northern New England Women’s Investors Network is excited to present “Office Hours with an Angel!”  Join Sandra Stone, Maine Angels’ Chair Emerita, and Bobbie Lamont, Membership Chair of Maine Angels, on Thursday March 21 from 12:30-1:30 for an open discussion with an Angel investor. This if an opportunity to bring up that question or topic in angel investing in a safe environment – no topic too big or too small.   Whether you’ve done some angel investing or none at all OR are just curious to learn more about how to get started and what it’s all about – this meeting is for you.

How to sign up:
1. Click on RSVP below
2. Email us at vermontwin@gmail.com and let us know your name and answer the following:
– Have you made any angel investments to date (Y/N)
– If you are an entrepreneur, have you received any “non Friends & Family funding” for your venture? (Y/N)
– What is one question or topic you would like to explore?

We’re thinking about doing these sessions every other month, so If you can’t make this meeting but like the idea, let us know what would interest you for future meetings and the best time to hold another session!  And if you’re an Angel willing to host an hour group session or offer follow up one on one sessions, let us know!  Email us at vermontwin@gmail.com.

About Sandra Stone:

Sandra Stone is Chair Emerita of Maine Angels, Maine’s angel investor network of accredited investors, who individually provide start-up capital, introductions, expertise, and guidance to early-stage entrepreneurs in Maine and New England. Members value the groups’ collective expertise and connections in sourcing, selecting, vetting, and collaborating in the investment process. The Maine Angels’ portfolio now has over $39M invested in over 85 New England companies. There are currently 86 members of whom 28% are women. Sandra has been a MA member since 2008, has made more than 30 investments, had several successful exits, and also had many fail! Her focus has been supporting female founders in scaling growth companies, especially in ME. She co-founded the Northern New England Women’s Investor Network, serves on the Board of Directors of CEI Ventures, Inc (professionally managed socially responsible venture capital funds), and the Dirigo Angel Funds I & II (‘side car’ funds that tap into the Maine Angels deal pipeline/pitch selection/diligence process to recommend pooled investments for group of ~40 investors, not all of whom are Maine Angel members).

About Bobbie Lamont

Bobbie Lamont became an angel investor in 2019. A chemist by training, Bobbie was a science editor and educator while raising her family and investing in the stock market for more than 30 years. Bobbie enjoys working with startup ecosystem partners to support founders and believes that diversity around the investor table is an important step to a more equitable and sustainable economy. Bobbie is a Board Observer of Tanbark Molded Fiber Products and a member of the Board of the Maine Space Corporation. Bobbie is Membership Chair of Maine Angels, and maintains a public calendar of entrepreneur ecosystem events “Of Interest” .

Northern New England Women’s Investors Network believes strongly in being an inclusive and diverse network.  While we appreciate our male allies, this event is free and open to all WOMEN, no matter their path, life experiences or relationships, to discover and achieve their economic goals in alignment with their values.
