Status of Women in Angel Investing in the US & UNH Rines Angel Fund April 6, 2021 12-1:30pm We’re delighted to have Kelsie Dawe and Aidan Kittredge, Co-Managing Directors of the Rines Angel Fund, a student run angel fund that invests in start-up ventures and Jeffrey E. Sohl, Director of the Center for Venture Research, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Decision Sciences at the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire, and the founder and managing director of the Rines Angel Fund, join us on April 6, 2021 from 12 to 1:30pm to tell The Rines Angel Fund Story and share Trends in Angel Investing. About:  Kelsie Dawe is a Co-Managing Director of the Rines Angel Fund, a student run angel fund that invests in start-up ventures. Kelsie is a junior from Nashua, NH who is pursuing both a major in finance and information systems & business analytics from UNH. She has aligned herself with various startups of different stages, ranging from pre-seed to unicorn status within the Greater Boston area. A particular highlight of her experience has been centered around the ability to have insight from both the entrepreneur and investor side of the space. As this was a key reason for joining the Fund, having this ambition evolve into tangible results has been deemed especially rewarding in Kelsie’s eyes, making a major impact on her time at UNH thus far. About:  Aidan Kittredge is one of two Co-Managing Directors of the Rines Angel Fund, a student run angel fund that invests in start-up ventures. This Hampton, New Hampshire native is currently a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics as well as a minor in Business Administration. Her interest in business and entrepreneurship stems from founding her own non-profit organization, Dress 4 School Success. Aidan has worked for several start-ups in New Hampshire, working roles from business development to marketing and operations. Aidan comes from a long line of entrepreneurs and hopes to carry on their legacy through involvement in the Rines Angel Fund as well as in her future career. About: Jeffrey E. Sohl is Director of the Center for Venture Research and Professor of Entrepreneurship and Decision Sciences at the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire. He currently serves on the Editorial Boards for Venture Capital, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and Journal of Business Venturing.  He previously served on the National Academy of Science Committee on Capitalizing Science, Technology and Innovation (2012-2016), and the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund’s VFG (2002-2016). In 2006 he was awarded the national Hans Severiens Award by the Kauffman Foundation in recognition of his research on angel investing in the US.  He has written over 50 articles which have been published in academic journals.  He has presented his research in academic and practitioner forums in North America, Europe and Asia, and in briefings for several government agencies and scholars from North America, Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, Asia and Africa.  He has appeared on CNBC, MSNBC, National Public Radio, NHPTV’s NH Outlook, and has been quoted in Inc., Forbes, Fortune, the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Red Herring, Newsweek, Business Week, Newsweek-Japan, Financial Times, New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times and the Financial Times-France.  Jeffrey is also the coordinator of all the Entrepreneurship programs, and the founder and managing director of the Mel Rines Student Angel Investment Fund, at Paul College.
